It’s a great time to be a Spider-Man fan.  Marvel is wrapping up an excellent story line called Spider-verse that has introduced dozens of great new characters from across the ‘multi-verse’ who will hopefully play a role in the ongoing saga of this central Marvel comics character.  At the same time Marvel and Sony just announced that Spider-Man (played by a yet unnamed actor) will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and some characters from the MCU may make appearances in future Spider-Man films (check this out for a few more details).

Since I was a kid in the 70s Spider-Man has been one of my favorite superhero characters.  I have always enjoyed reading Spider-Man comics and watching the movies.  I mentioned in a blog post a few weeks ago how easily I have started reading Spider-Man comics again after decades away, a testament to how well this character has been defined by Marvel and how close to the central storyline writers have stayed over the years.  This is a great time to be a Spider-Man fan and I look forward to more great stories in the months to come.
