My question today is why?

Not, ‘why do things happen the way they do?’ That question makes me think of an old Tracy Chapman song (shows how old I am):

Why do the babies starve when there’s enough food to feed the world?

Why when there are so many of us are there people still alone?

Why are the missiles called peace-keepers when they’re aimed to kill?

And why is a woman still not safe when she’s in her home?

Instead I want to ask why do you do the things you do? As in what motivates you? Is it something larger that you’re trying to accomplish or achieve? Or do you do what you do for the sheer joy and satisfaction it brings? What gets you up in the morning to throw yourself into what you’re doing? Why?
